John Magill, a golf enthusiast, turned a dream into reality by transforming the lush pastures and serene woods of the family dairy farm into a stunning 18-hole championship course. Working alongside his son Jay, they partnered with the renowned Mugeam, Cornish golf design team to craft one of New England's top-rated public golf courses.

Highfields proudly introduced an extraordinary 30,000 square foot clubhouse, a true masterpiece of design and functionality. Featuring a fully-stocked pro shop for the latest in gear and styles, and a dedicated space to house our fleet of golf carts, ensuring that every round of golf is as seamless and enjoyable as possible.

The John Henry Tavern opened its doors in 2008, offering warm, casual dining surrounded by views of our golf course and the Worcester Hills. Whether you want an appetizer or dinner, our restaurant and bar have the perfect post-round bar vibe for golfers.

Along with The Tavern, the club opened the Claddagh Room for private events such as weddings, bar mitzvahs, and the perfect venue for a post golf outing ceremony. Since the launch Highfields has become a popular private event venue for the Greater Worcester area.
