Inner Club

The Highfields Inner Club (I.C.) exists to promote camaraderie among recreational golfers by sponsoring organized, competitive golf for its members.The only requirement for membership in the I. C. is to have a minimum course handicap in accordance with the rules herein.  Membership fees are set by, and paid to the management of the course.  An elected board establishes a schedule of events, sets prize awards, and makes the decisions allowed under the USGA Rules of Golf.

  • Governing Board

    The Advisory Board of the I.C. is composed of 7 members of the I.C. who are elected by the Inner Club itself. Elections are held annually. Each member is conferred a 3-year term. The terms of the 7 members are staggered such that a minimum of 2 new members will be elected each year. Board members may not serve 2 consecutive terms, and must sit out one year before seeking re-election. Exception: if no one seeks election to replace the open seat(s) the out-going Board member can opt to extend one year, and the process repeats the following year.

  • Player Eligibility

    Payment of annual dues must precede any I.C. play. Any player joining the I.C. without a handicap must play as a social member (not for any form of prize-no entry fee required for play) until a temporary handicap is established by posting five 18 hole scores. With an official MGA handicap, a member may enter any event, though the board my require a minimum number of rounds to be played in the I.C. before entering certain tournaments. In order to be eligible for I. C. play, your Highfields course handicap must not exceed 24.

  • Sweeps and Tournament Play

    The board will conduct competitions every weekend and holiday from the start of play in the spring until the last official weekend of sweeps play in the fall. Entry fees for these competitions will be set by the current board. Members earn sweeps points for winnings in events and for attendance (defined as appearing for play and paying the required entry fee). A special competition will be held near the end of the season for the top sweeps points earners. All I.C. play requires advance sign-up in the pro shop. The specifics of this plus cancellation policies will be available in the pro shop.

  • Tournament Sign Up

    Sign up for all Inner Club pay must be on sign-up sheets by Tuesday of the week in which you wish to play. Sign-up sheets for each weekend will be put out one week in advance. Players MUST report in at the pro shop desk a minimum of 10 minutes prior to their scheduled tee time. Failure to do so may result in loss of tee time. Saturday tee times will be available on Fridays after 3:00 p.m. and Sunday tee times will be available Saturdays after 12:00 p.m.

  • Cancellations

    Cancellations must be received by the pro shop staff no later than 24 hours prior to your scheduled tee time. Anyone who does not cancel by the cancellation deadline will be assessed the normal greens fee rate and will be expected to pay that amount before paying their next Inner Club round.
